Production Notes - "Sunshine And Happiness"
"Synchestra" was my introduction to the world of Devin Townsend back in 2006, but it was the uncredited hidden track "Sunshine & Happiness For All" that made me want to take it apart and see what makes it tick. I eventually mocked up a MIDI arrangement and began noodling around the vocal melodies with an eye to creating a David Letterman-style "guitaraoke" cover. The Kemper was used mainly for dialing in reference sounds; it didn't take long to come up with something similar with on the S-Gear, which ended up replacing most of the scratch tracks. An early demo of the track as it was morphing out of its MIDI arrangement can be found here.
